The 1st CEA Hard Hata and Pinning Ceremony

History is rarely made in a single moment, but today, it was in the form of a pin and the crowning of a helmet. The room was filled with hope, passion, and pride. There is a sense of lightness in knowing that in a couple of months, in a year or two, these same students will grace the stage again, wiser by a degree.

The event took place earlier today at the Monsignor Serrano Auditorium. Organized by the College Representative of Engineering and Architecture Towards Excellence (CREATE), the ceremony began with a solemn opening prayer by Jasmine Rubio, AAA President, followed by the National Anthem and the University Hymn.

The tone for the morning was set by Dr. Joey Suba, AVPAA, STS. In a stirring welcome address, he reminded the budding professionals that while knowledge builds structures, character builds the future. He emphasized that professionalism must walk hand-in-hand with expertise, for one cannot truly flourish without the other. This sentiment was echoed by Engr. Jenilyn Aquino, OIC of CEA, as she shared her message on the essential growth required of young visionaries entering the field.

Then came the heart of the ceremony: the pinning and hard hat conferment. As names were called, the auditorium was filled with bright smiles and genuine laughter as everyone felt the nearing success reflecting from the current event.

To seal this commitment, the assembly rose for the ceremonial oath. Led by PIIE President Shamel Marie Dantes and PICE President Rainer Justine Bungay, the students stood with hands raised as they enunciated every word with heart and soul.

Adding a final layer of perspective, Ar. Melencio Manalo, FUAP, AA, EAROPH, shared words of wisdom on the sanctity of the profession. He expressed his hope that when these students finally hold the world in their hands, they will wield their expertise as a tool for social transformation and selfless service.

The event was formally adjourned by CREATE President Ron Maynard Clamor, whose closing remarks were filled with palpable gratitude for the success of this milestone event.
