The University of the Assumption (UA) and the Pampanga Research Educators Organization (PREO) officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to formalize their collaboration for the upcoming PREO International Research Conference 2026. This strategic partnership marks a significant milestone in advancing academic discourse, fostering innovation, and strengthening research culture within the region and beyond.
Scheduled to take place on October 22โ24, 2026, at the Hotel Seoul, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga, the conference is hosted by the City College of Angeles. This yearโs event centers on the timely theme, “Reimagining Higher Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Ethical Innovation, Faculty Transformation, and Institutional Excellence.” Through this collaboration, both institutions aim to provide a robust platform for educators and researchers to navigate the evolving landscape of AI in higher education.
Present during the signing ceremony to seal the agreement were top officials and representatives from both institutions. The UA delegation was led by University President Fr. Oliver Yalung and Vice-President for Academic Affairs Dr. Arnel T. Sicat, alongside the staff of the UA Research and Extension Office. Representing PREO was the organization’s executive committee and staff, headed by their President, Dr. Jean Paulo Lacap. Their collective presence highlights a shared commitment to empowering educators and championing academic excellence.
This partnership is expected to open new avenues for faculty members, researchers, and academic professionals to engage in meaningful dialogue regarding ethical AI integration and institutional transformation. By working together, UA and PREO reinforce their commitment to elevating the quality of research and education, ensuring that academic institutions remain resilient and forward-thinking in a rapidly changing digital era.
