UA Joins the Handog ng Pangulo Celebration

The University of the Assumption (UA), upon the invitation of the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHED RO III), participated in the Handog ng Pangulo Celebration held on September 14, 2026, at the Kingsborough International Convention Center in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
The event brought together government agencies, partner organizations, and higher education institutions in a shared commitment to advancing accessible, responsive, and citizen-centered public service. It also showcased programs and services in education, livelihood, health and wellness, financial assistance, and other areas essential to community development.
During the gathering, UA President Rev. Fr. Oliver G. Yalung, accompanied by Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Michaella Castillo, engaged in a meaningful conversation with Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon regarding the recent flooding in Pampanga. Secretary Dizon affirmed the DPWH’s commitment to pursuing long-term and sustainable solutions to the province’s recurring flooding concerns.
Fr. Yalung also met with Pampanga Governor Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis Pineda to explore potential partnerships that could provide greater opportunities and support for UA students and graduates while contributing to the continued progress of Pampanga.
These meaningful engagements reflect UA’s steadfast commitment to strengthening partnerships with government and community stakeholders. Through collaboration, the University continues to create opportunities, empower its students and graduates, strengthen community resilience, and help shape a more progressive future for Pampanga.
Together with its partners, UA transforms meaningful conversations into purposeful action—creating greater opportunities for Assumptionists and the wider community.
