The University of the Assumption welcomed its Belgian partner, CHINTA, for a visit that brought a remarkable opportunity into focus for UA nursing graduates: a pathway toward a nursing career in Belgium through Project MAALAGA.
UA President Rev. Fr. Oliver G. Yalung and other University officials warmly received the delegation, led by Wouter Sonneville, CHINTA CEO, with JeanBaptist Vandeneede and Delphine Comijn, CHINTA Project Managers, and Valerie Lemmens, IVV Teacher. UA was also honored to welcome Marta Hermez, Consul and Deputy Head of Mission of Belgium.
Built on ethical recruitment and training, Project MAALAGA connects Philippine nurses with opportunities in Belgian healthcare. The first batch of UA nursing graduates is expected to depart in January 2027—turning years of study, perseverance, and purpose into a new chapter of service abroad.
