University of the Assumption Advances Future-Ready Education through Workshop on Multimedia Instructional Design Principles

April 23 | UA Café Maria
The University of the Assumption (UA) reaffirmed its commitment to innovative and technology-enhanced education through the successful conduct of the Workshop on Multimedia Instructional Design Principles.
Anchored on the University’s vision of social innovation and AI-ready education under the leadership of its President, Fr. Oliver G. Yalung, the initiative underscores UA’s strong direction toward preparing educators and learners for the demands of the contemporary digital and artificial intelligence era.
The workshop gathered educators and academic leaders from various academic units of the University for a full day of learning, collaboration, and professional development. The activity aimed to strengthen student-centered and digitally integrated teaching practices across disciplines.
Distinguished speakers from Handong Global University led the session, namely Byung Deok Kang, Seyoung Kim, and Jiyeon Bae, representing the Social Innovation Department, School of Creative Convergence and Education Development, and the Institute for Holistic Scholarship and Education Development. They delivered expert insights on multimedia instructional design, engaging digital content delivery, and the integration of technology in contemporary pedagogy.
The program was graced by Dr. Arnel Sicat, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), along with Dr. Edna Calma and Dr. Ruth Ducut, Assistant Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs (AVPAA), demonstrating strong institutional support for faculty development and academic innovation.
Participants came from a wide range of academic disciplines, including Business, Accountancy, Education (Senior High School, Junior High School, and Grade School), Arts, Health Sciences, Nursing, AB Communication, Psychology, Theology, Physical Education, Technological Studies, Engineering, and Information Technology. This interdisciplinary participation fostered a rich exchange of ideas and strengthened collaborative learning among faculty members across academic units.
Beyond a training activity, the workshop served as a platform for empowering educators with practical tools and strategies to enhance instructional delivery and promote future-ready education.
The University of the Assumption continues to position itself at the forefront of academic innovation, emphasizing that excellence in teaching is driven by continuous learning, transformation, and responsiveness to global educational trends.
