Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia and University of the Assumption Establish Research Collaboration

The Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Bandung, Indonesia – School of Post Graduates and the University of the Assumption (UA), Philippines – School of Education formally established a research collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on October 1, 2026, in Bandung, Indonesia.
The ceremonial signing marks an important milestone in strengthening the academic and research partnership between the two institutions, particularly in the areas of research collaboration, scholarly exchange, faculty development, academic cooperation, and knowledge sharing.
Representing Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia during the ceremonial signing were Prof. Dr. Juntika, M.Pd., Director of the School of Post Graduates, and Prof. Diana Rochintaniawati, Senior Faculty of Post Graduate Studies.
The University of the Assumption delegation was represented by its academic leaders:
- Dr. Ruth Balajadia-Ducut, AVPAA, School of Education, and Concurrent Dean, School of Education;
- Dr. Edna Calma, AVPAA, School of Health, Arts and Sciences, and Concurrent Dean, School of Arts and Sciences; and
- Dr. Joey M. Suba, AVPAA, School of Technological Sciences, and Concurrent Dean, College of Information Technology.
The MOA provides a framework for both institutions to pursue joint research initiatives, collaborative scholarly activities, faculty and academic exchanges, research dissemination, and other programs that promote innovation and excellence in education.
The partnership also opens opportunities for faculty members and students from both institutions to engage in meaningful cross-border research, share expertise and best practices, and develop collaborative initiatives addressing emerging challenges in education and society.
The signing underscores the shared commitment of UPI and UA to advancing research excellence, internationalization, and academic innovation. It further strengthens the growing educational ties between Indonesia and the Philippines and contributes to the development of meaningful academic partnerships within the ASEAN region.
Through this collaboration, UPI and UA look forward to building a sustained partnership that creates opportunities for research, learning, innovation, and global academic engagement.
